The Emperor's Holiday

Updated: Aug 2, 2020

After a short break, reggae patriarch Ras Denroy Morgan has returned to the music scene with the release of his new single entitled, 'Holiday'. The new single promotes the adaptation of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie's coronation anniversary to become a global holiday.

Morgan reasons that "the only two global holidays are Christmas and Easter, which do not guide us as people the Davidic covenant in spirit and truth. So we seek this holiday by way of the Solomonic dynasty through the coronation of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie 1."

Known for his mega-hit 'I'll Do Anything for You' which peaked at #8 and spent 20 weeks on the Billboard Dance Chart in 1981. Morgan followed up with 'Happy Feeling' which peaked at #46 1982 on the Billboard Dance Chart.

Ras Morgan is the patriarch of the renowned reggae group Morgan Heritage, and other groups included the Dreds and LMS. Solo acts, Laza Morgan and Jemere Morgan, are also part of this distinguished musical family.

A long-time member of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, Morgan is the ordained Bishop of the International Gospel Helpers Church; and a member of the American Clergy Leadership Conference. He is also Ambassador of the Ethiopian Orthodox Coptic Church of North and South America. His first book From The Cross to the Throne which explores Rastafarian rituals and spirituality is due later in 2020
