Genre defiance and genre fluidity have become the new norm in the music industry globally. It's becoming increasingly challenging to identify artists by genres, as artists are not limiting themselves to one or even two types.
The new trend is to borrow elements from a variety of styles and genres. Record companies are now finding it challenging to define artists by the genre they create due to these general practices that have become the norm.
Nigerian Hip Hop star – Yung6ix has always been at the forefront of anything trendy around the African rap scene and has developed a reputation for being very fluid in his genre choices. Staying true to this reputation, Yung6ix has recently released his latest album 'Introduction To TrapFro'.
The record signals the emergence of a new sub-genre which is a fusion of Trap and Afrobeats. The collection includes guest appearances from Sinzu, Peruzzi, Dammy Krane and fellow south-south rapper – Erriga. Known for bangers such as 'What If ', 'Ina Benz ', 'Decision ', 'Body ', 'You Don See Am ', 6ix delivered another excellent body of work which is his third studio album.
