The recently held Met Gala 2024 in Manhattan transformed the Metropolitan Museum of Art into the most fashionable place in the world. A-list celebrities in attendance included actress Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Chris Hemsworth, and Bad Bunny.
Another highly anticipated gala, the Issa Trust Foundation 'For The Children' New York Benefit,' will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Cipriani 42nd Street in Manhattan, New York. The Mother's Day weekend event will feature performances by Reggae Ambassadors Third World and special guests Luciano, Gramps Morgan, and Kumar.
Among the special invited A list guests is the Patron of the Foundation, Her Excellency The Most Honorable Lady Allen.
"The Governor-General of Jamaica and her Excellency Lady Allen have been patrons of the foundation since the inception," Paul Issa, Chairman of the Issa Trust Foundation, said.
"They have helped us raise money and bring awareness to our programs and the needs of the children. Lady Allen is by trade a nurse, and she understands the importance of philanthropic efforts like this, " he shared.
Since its inception, the Issa Foundation has been instrumental in reducing child mortality rates, thanks to partnerships with organizations like Direct Relief and the National Health Fund.

Mr Issa said the Neonatal Intensive Care model in Jamaica has saved countless lives, providing ventilators, diagnostic equipment, and crucial training for medical professionals. This initiative has been a game-changer for newborns and neonates, ensuring they receive the specialized care they deserve. Additionally, the Foundation has been instrumental in pediatric and neonatal education for doctors and nurses island-wide in Jamaica.
"We are passionately committed to providing world-class holistic services that address the physical, mental and social needs of our young people and their families, and that's why we are hosting this unforgettable For The Children Gala in New York City to raise funds to complete our mission" he added.
Speaking about the importance of the gala, Cat Coore, a founding member of Third World, said, "The Issa Trust Foundation is a wonderful organization that does great things for the kids of Jamaica. Funds raised will go towards construction of the Mary Issa Pediatric and Adolescent Health Center in St Ann," he added.
The iconic reggae band is known for all-time reggae classics such as Try Jah Love, Now That We've Found Love, Reggae Ambassador, 96 Degrees in the Shade, Sense of Purpose, and Forbidden Love.
