Bob Marley's Legend Album Hits Another Milestone

Bob Marley is one of the select few musicians whose body of work is so timeless and widely cherished that his greatest hits compilation remains on the Billboard 200 chart continuously. According to Forbes Magazine, there are very few artists who have created such enduring hits that their albums never drop off the list of the most-consumed records in the United States.

Marley’s music, especially his iconic tracks, remains a staple on the competitive chart as Americans continue to listen and purchase his works. This consistent popularity has resulted in a remarkable milestone.

"Legend: The Best of Bob Marley and The Wailers" has now spent 850 weeks on the Billboard 200, placing it in an exclusive group of albums. Marley becomes only the second artist in U.S. history to achieve this feat. Pink Floyd is the only other band to accomplish such longevity, whose "The Dark Side of the Moon" is approaching 1,000 weeks on the same chart.

"Legend: The Best of Bob Marley and The Wailers" features some of the reggae icon's best-known songs, including "Is This Love," "Three Little Birds," "One Love," and "Get Up, Stand Up."

Critics of the compilation have argued that the list does not adequately position Bob as the revolutionary artist who fought against racism, colonialism and white supremacy. Other critics hail it as one of the greatest hits complaition of all times.
